Nominations can be made through the nomination form located here! While we wish we could feature every nomination that comes in, at this time we are only able to feature 11 families a year. We’re dreaming big though and hope to be able to feature more families in the future!
No, the illness does not have to be officially classified as rare. We look at each nomination on a case-by-case basis. Our main goal is to bring light to diseases out that have little attention and little funding, but we also look at the support that the specific family is in need of. We are not only raising awareness for the particular disease, we most importantly want to raise support and encouragement for our particular families we feature.
All featured families are first nominated through the form located here. All nominations are then reviewed by our staff on a case-by-case basis who consider a variety of factors including level of financial need for the family, nature of the diagnosis, location, and availability of the family. We try to schedule out our featured families around three months in advance. We continue to keep all nominations in front of us so if a family isn’t immediately selected for a feature does not mean they won’t be featured in the future. While we wish we could feature every nomination that comes in, at this time we are only able to feature 11 families a year. We’re dreaming big though and hope to be able to feature more families in the future!
This is one of our most frequently asked questions. The best way you can help is by telling other people about us and what we are doing!
